Using your Freight Data to Manage your Freight Spend Related to COVID-19

Right now healthcare supply chains are doing whatever it takes to ensure patient care is not being disrupted. This means making sure supplies are abundant to complete that mission at all costs. So even though your organization may be moving in product at all costs that does not mean you ignore the freight data. If anything, it means you need to be taking a closer look at your freight data. SCS suggests supply chain leaders focus on the following within their freight data reports:

  • Changes in product type usage from Ground to Express
  • New suppliers being used
  • Mode optimization
  • Locations of suppliers and how government closers could affect sourcing product
  • Freight costs per supplier
  • Shipment frequency changes

Urgency does not mean complacency. As a healthcare organization ourselves, we know how world events effect the healthcare supply chain. If your current 3PL provider isn’t giving you the insight you need to make better decisions, please take a look at our solution. Built on years of proven success, tools and collaboration, we know our freight management program will bring serious cost savings over your current costs and can be implemented remotely. No matter how big or small your organization, SCS has a freight management solution for you.

Stay safe… Stay healthy,
